Does anyone board here? I wanna pick up a new setup do to mountains being so close to college and I know alot of people go on the weeks etc. Before I make more effort just want to see if there's actually someone that could aid in my decision.
Blew the budget still going to school with plenty of money and workstudy will give me a weekly check so. But I picked it all up with some help from GNS and friends I board with.
Uh, just as expensive if you can believe that (for casual boarders not pros, they don't pay for their shit anyway). I skated almost every deck brand I could get my hands on when i was younger (14ish). From your blank pos, to Real to Enjoi back to world industries, flip, baker, element (shitty) but yeah. Over two years... and decks last a long time until you start to get good. With no job and friends everyday after school I could go to a park and hit every rail and play in the pipe all day if your going through a 50 dollar board every 2 weeks it gets expensive. I've broken 2 in the same day.. On the same stairset... So It all depends on what you do to how expensive a sport is. If you gap stairs or hit stair rails all day it'll last 2 weeks ish. If you skate vert only last months. If you freeride a snowboard can last you far past 3 seasons. If you jib all day long maybe 1 ? 2-3 if your lucky.
But yeah it's crazy how shit tends to add up. P.S When i skateboarded ma and pa bought all my stuff hahaha, however if I could i'd like to take back that history and have allll that money in my account..
Dude, depends on what kind of snowboarding you refer to. Simple go down the hill, and play with a few natural gaps and jumps, yeah, i do that, even the occasional vert drop. Heavy duty gapping and playing on the rails/pipes, no I don't.
Couldn't help you on budget stuff, though, i tend to spend "what's necessary" to get me set up like I want to be, and more on gearing the wife, who feels cheated if she doesn't have the "better" (i.e. "more expensive") rig of the two of us.
