Ravens v. Texans got moved from sunday night to monday night because of the hurricane, meow the hurricane beat up Texans stadium, and it wont be played monday night.

Soooooo if they don't play this week, I can't play Balti's D. As far as I know.

    edit---

Ravens v Texans Nov 9th. Also affects Bengals Schedule, so a heads up there.

Fuck meow I gotta play Dallas D against Philly...
  • MagicMagic September 2008
Well Rivers is tearing it up this year with the Chargers, so I'm leaning toward starting him for the rest of the season. Anyone interested in a trade for Carson Palmer? His numbers look horrid, but keep in mind game 1 was against stingy Ravens D and game 2 was pretty much played in a wind tunnel.

Anyway, I'm looking to shore up my WRs, not expecting a top-flight WR -- but let me know if anyone is interested.
  • JAmmYJAmmY September 2008
    pffff

    You guys don't want Palmer.

You guys want Aaron Rodgers, just send me a nice WR as compensation.
  • NunesNunes September 2008
Rodgers killed it for me last night. Granted it was against the Lions... but you know.

Matt Cassel sucks and isn't a good replacement for Brady.

Philly and Dallas are going to stomp each others Defenses into the ground.

I have Seattle's D and they got 8 sacks last game. I'm happy.

I'm down 21 points with Westbrook set to play still. stupid high scoring Sunday... 38-39 Chargers v. Broncos? Really? Fucking Ed Hockely should get a pay cut for those shenanigans...
  • JeddHamptonJeddHampton September 2008
The Chargers should have won. That was a stupid call.

Referee: We were wrong. That was a fumble. Even though San Diego recovered it, its Denver's ball.
    *a few minutes later*
    BRONCOS WIN!
  • NunesNunes September 2008
On an insane 2 point conversion play that was an exact repeat of the previous play which scored a touchdown which was a direct result of their maintained possession stemming from my shitty, jump the gun call and a rule that is designed to treat quarterbacks like fragile infant girls with downs syndrome.
  • NunesNunes September 2008
to review. The broncos are fuckin' lucky.
  • JeddHamptonJeddHampton September 2008

Don't feel bad -- the person I went against started M. Colston, who was out due to injury, and still won. My team is teh suck, my kicker had double the points of any other player on my team.
  • BillBill September 2008
I had a solid week, I would have beaten any of the rest of you.

Frustrating... Should have played the tampa defense and santonio holmes instead of overadjusting after last week.

    Sorry Bill....

Yeah, sunday morning I woke up and changed DMF for Thomas Jones, only mistake I made this week (I just woke up and said... I have a feeling TJones is going to have a good week against the Pats.. lol)

    and I wish I coulda played Balti's D.

Other than that Rodgers and SMoss had me a nice week, along with the everyone who played in that high scoring MNF game lol

Rodgers dropped a hate fuck of a game on me. Smoss and Westbrook finished me off.. The rest of your team was ok, but it was those three that fucked me.
  • NunesNunes September 2008
In my league I was the second highest scoring team. 123 this week. I lost to number 1 at 124... Westbrook needed 5 more fucking yards to tie it for me, but spent the last 10 minutes running distraction while mcnabb lost the fucking game.

    SO PISSED

    \next highest scoring team: 86

I think that hochily or however the fuck you spell it is probably the best ref in the game. That said, he did exactly what he was supposed to do. The problem doesn't lie with whistle happy refs, but with the rules being over protective of quarterbacks.

Remarkably, Reggie Bush is one of my studs right now... I know that's not going to last... Comon Peyton, get your shit together.
  • MagicMagic September 2008
I passed on Peyton with my 2nd pick knowing he'd have a tough first couple games coming off the injury. Instead I took Carson Palmer, who I think has gotten me 4 points in 2 games -- that really worked out for me didn't it?

I'm introducing Palmer to the bench while he gets his shit together, Rivers better turn my sinking ship around.
  • ebolaebola September 2008
lol, i got palmer, romo, and rivers. i played romo first 2 weeks, and still deciding between romo and rivers this week. palmer over rivers? were u high? hes so far back on my bench hes about to fall off.

Jesus, have a few more qbs Tom... I grabbed Manning knowing he'd be slow to start off this year, but I figured he'd be someone worth having by the middle of the season.

little heavy on the qb's imo.

Big Ben Roeth and Aaron Rodgers for me. I used the extra picks to snag a more diverse RB WR lineup. I didn't really see the benefit of having a 3rd QB when there's only 1 bye week.
/you can only run 1 QB a week dewd.
//I see Bill covered that for me.
  • ebolaebola September 2008
yeah, i want to trade away palmer for a back, a tightend, or better defense. ive only got pittsburgh for defense and they're doing all right, but they might collapse like they did 2nd half of last season and id be better off not losing points. i drafted qb heavy because it was autodraft and i wanted to make sure i get atleast 1 qb i liked and my league mates didnt pick qbs til like round 4-6.
  • ebolaebola September 2008

You're either in a CRAZY league or you're not very good at this.

RB/WR first, they are the highest scorers in the highest demand. Since you can rely on people waiting til round 4 to pick up a QB ( you might have seen one or two go early this time but there are plenty of good QB's and only a couple excellent RBs)
QB pick the one you want, note his bye week, have two or three back up s in mind with different bye weeks
    Fill out your WR
    pick a D
    get your other QB
    fill out RB's

you can sprinkle a TE in there somewhere and you need a kicker

Your solid with the pittsburgh D

What you want is a solid base of RBs and WRs so if say, Marion Barber gets injured (which he will) you can rely on another good RB like Brian Westbrook. Having an extra defense is really only valuable if your defense completely blows, or for the bye week.

If you are playing Pitt D against a pass heavy team, like the Cowboys, maybe, MAYBE just consider not running a defense that week.

    priorities, screwed up yours were.

  • NunesNunes September 2008
But QB's also tend to not go round 1. And there are more good QB choices per player than there are good RB choices.

You get the opportunity to double dip with your QB Wide out choices if you pick your QB first, but there aren't really any reliable combinations, aside from Tony Romo to TO. There's just too much diversity to make a double dip worthwhile most of the time. The Top 8 QB's have minimal deviation that results from projections regarding mostly how many interceptions they might throw. But you can expect about the same performance from any of the top 8 on any given week.

The Top 7 RB's however: (2007 season numbers)
    1: LT - 18 TD's
    2: Adrian Peterson - 13 TD's
    3: Brian Westbrook - 12 TD's
    5: Joseph Addai - 15 TD's but inconsistant yardage
    4: Steven Jackson - 6 TD's but injury prone
    6: Frank Gore - 6 TD's (and an IQ of about 75)
7: Clinton Portis - 11 TD's and new competition with Betts who could share in up to half of those 11.

The only sure bets for RB are 1 - 4, LT, AP, BW, and Addai. And while people only have 2 QB's they can have up to 4 or 5 RB's, making the pool of talent much more highly sought after.
  • ScabdatesScabdates September 2008
You're best off picking a RB then WR then another RB and another WR.
  • NunesNunes September 2008
depending on what other people pick you may be inclined to get a QB as early as 3rd round, but earlier than that you're overemphasizing the importance of one player.
  • BlackLightBlackLight September 2008

In our league Julius Jones is still a free agent.

Let me put it this way, I've got better RBs, better WRs, and I still managed to pick up Manning, who while slumping a little now, is still as good as any quarterback in the league. I picked up Manning third round.

Bad. I'll be lucky to make playoffs with my team.

    QB - P. Rivers
    WR - H. Ward
    WR - D. Patten
    WR - TJ who's-yer-momma
    RB - J. Addai
    RB - M. Jones-Drew
    TE - A. Gates
    D - Pittsburgh
    D - Urlacher
    K - Longwell

    Bench
    C. Palmer (Cinnci QB)
    P. Crayton (Dallas WR)
    R. Brown (Philly WR)
    R. Brown (Miami RB)
    D. Williams (Carolina RB)
    J. Gaffney (NE WR)
    Indy D

Seems like a majority of my players are now fighting injuries or playing well below their abilities. I'm trying not to pull a Buckeye and dump a bunch of players. Last year he panicked and let go of Braylon Edwards and Laurence Maroney. I picked them up -- Edwards had a monster year, and Maroney was key in the late weeks when Brady was playing in cold/windy weather.

Oh well -- I still won the first year (no one was close), so if I don't repeat this year that's fine with me.
  • ebolaebola September 2008

  • BillBill September 2008

  • ebolaebola September 2008
well, i got Joseph Addai 8th, and Tony Romo 9th. the only RBs i like better than romo are Marshall Lynch, Clinton Portis, or Willie Parker (drafted after Romo). there was no way I couldve seen Reggie Bush coming, u probably had urs picked like 30ish in ur league as well, and I didn't edit my draft picks after about 30-40, so the only people i really picked are Addai, Romo, and Braylon Edwards. Shitty luck that 2 of them had slow starts. I definitely couldve picked up a QB later and got either another good RB or WR, which i did. But I dont think my roster turned out bad is what I'm saying Bill.
  • NunesNunes September 2008

No sweat, I'm coming for you though. I finally have a roster I'm happy with. I'm stacked at RB with Addai, R. Brown, Jones-Drew and D.Williams. My WRs are finally starting to get their shit together too -- I can't believe someone dropped Colston when he was injured for a few games. Had I started Rivers instead of Palmer those first few weeks I'd have at least the same record, oh well it'll be a comeback victory this year instead of a total blow-out like last.
  • xemplarxemplar October 2008
I cant seem to get a good team together. Especially without a good TE.
  • MagicMagic October 2008
TEs are like kickers, there's no reason to flip-flop at that position because of how inconsistent they are (unless you have Witten). I have Gates and even he has been wildy sporatic this year. I don't make changes at that position unless my starter is on a bye, because the moment I drop him the moment he's going to have a decent game.
  • BlackLightBlackLight October 2008
    Come at me Magic.
