In a couple weeks I have to give a presentation on "using video games to design visual analytical software for digital natives". Exciting stuff, I know.
One of the points I want to get across is that video game interfaces convey a shit-ton of information. I don't have to tell you guys how many different resources a serious gamer can juggle at once. And there have actually been studies done, showing that exposure to these interfaces changes how your mind works - arguably for the better.
Anyway, I want to have in my presentation a few examples of video game interfaces conveying information. So in the next couple weeks, if you're playing a video game with a lot happening on the screen, take a quick screenshot and send it my way. Either post it here, or email it to [email protected] if you're feeling lazy.
I figured I could just google "video game screen shots", but you guys probably have better and more creative examples of what I'm looking for.
Wow that's pretty perfect, thanks a lot! I'll google some RTS games too. If anybody else takes any screenshots or has any more suggestions, the more the merrier.
Now I'm new to WoW, but that screen made my eyes pop out of my head. This is what my screen looks like most of the time /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
That being said, I'm not sure this is an example of a lot of things going on at once, in fact quite the opposite, I thought it was amusing how much less was going on =D
We need that screen from cs from whenever where like 3492803942 people are standing on top of one another. It may not serve you any actual use, but it's cool as shit.
