So, I was in Costa Mesa, California for a week. For my new job, I have been learning a system called FileNet. It is a document imaging system that many wealthy companies use to take care of their papers. Their headquarters is located in Costa Mesa. I went down there for some administrative training and had a decent time.
Because I had to be in class from 9-5 (12-8), I didn't get to have as much fun as if it was a vacation. I did get to see Huntington Beach a few times and went to Sharkees once (crazy crazy time). I must say, the weather was quite consistent. The weather men probably never look at a map, because it is always 73 and sunny. Seriously, do they have weather men in California?
Sadly, you have to pay for the wireless at the hotel, so my iPod Touch was pretty much a know show for internet, and that left me with out my fix for the week. The training didn't offer internet, either. This was the first year they didn't have it (because FileNet was bought by IBM and the FileNet building was starting to follow IBM rule).
One thing that did surprise me was that all their television (at least cable) is shown in Eastern time. So, when I watched the new episode of Burn Notice that was on at 10, it was actually 7 (I didn't catch the whole thing, but did watch the repeat 3 hours later, I know a bit ironic, right?).
Anyway, the trip was nice, but wasn't too exciting.
The only real excitement here is at the party scenes around San Jose and San Francisco. Not much else happens; it's consistent here. Great place to live though.
