Hancock

Anyone see it? I thought it was quite enjoyable, although the best laughs were definitely before the halfway point. Also, his whole backstory was kind of cloudy and probably could've been improved, but overall it was fun.

Yeah I liked it. Was absolutely hilarious at points. Gotta assume a sequel (prequel?) to clear up some of his past though since you basically have no idea wtf is going on most the time.

    built?
  • I thought the whole plot sucked... Good acting but needs work on the script.

i actually thought it was over sentimental crap that was only funny in the first half hour. they shouldve bumped it up to an R rating and made a good movie.

It originally was an R movie. They knocked it down to a PG-13. There was a sex scene where Hancock blows a hole in his trailer with semen (the hole is in the movie when Hancock flies away from his trailer to tell the husband about the wife).

The movie needed a bit more to it. The script was a bit jumpy. They could have definitely thrown a bit more in there to smooth things out. It seemed liked they mashed two movies into one and cut out some of the supporting facts in both. Why was Hancock a hero in the first place? There is only one line (in the end of the movie) to help support this, and it wasn't even a half decent explanation.

The first half was the better half, but it was also pretty repetitive. Hancock catches the criminal or saves a life and then people call him an asshole. The whole prison thing should have gone on a bit longer. They have these nice scenes where he shows he has the ability to run away, but doesn't. It all adds up to nothing, because they lose significance, because he gets out in the next 4 minutes of the movie. Also, the whole anger management part could have amounted into a breakthrough and some change for his character (as I was expecting), but he barely says anything. He does show some small change from it, but they could have added another scene to show he was actually becoming a decent person.

On to the second half. Did they read this script? Why did the wife feel the need to fight him? If she explained everything after Hancock got after prison instead of deciding that he need to be beaten into the asphalt, maybe she could have justified what she was doing. Instead of all the "I'm not going to go through that again" lines.

And the ending was pretty melodramatic.

I'm trying not to spoil it, because the acting did carry the movie well. It was a decent movie, and it deserves an average rating. The script had so much potential. Especially when they brought in the whole Greek god thing. Seriously, why couldn't they get into that more?

I really enjoyed it, and I thought they did a great job.

I went into it expecting a movie that didn't require a lot of thought, and that's what I got. So I walked away very happy with the entire thing.

    It was alright.

B/c it was a PG-13 movie, I assume they had to keep the gore and violence down, which I was hoping to see more gore and violence from smacking people with his super natural powers.

As ppl said, plot could've been more elaborated. Would've been nice, but the acting was done nicely. Mad props to that.

    Anddddddddd

    The actress was hawt.

I like how when she's fighting she's in a skanky ass costume and when she's playing the role as a mother, she's not so skanky haha.

"You smell like liquor..." "Well i've been drinking, bitch"

I dunno, the whole plot was a bit out there. I felt like Will Smith did well acting wise, but nothing was better than The Pursuit of Happiness. Far and away his best in my eyes.

And my point is most of his movies are good and imo his best acting ties with various movies.

Less of his comical ones, but more serious playing roles. So diaf. kthnxbai.
