Now that my Magic have officially failed yet again, who here regularly watches the NBA playoffs and, if so, who thinks has the best chance of making it to (and potentially winning) the finals this year? In case you didn't know, here are the current matchups
Spurs vs. Hornets (2-3)
Lakers vs. Jazz (2-2)
Boston vs. Cleveland (2-2)
Detroit (won 3-1 against Orlando)
Personally I would love to see a Lakers/Hornets final, but realistically think its going to go Lakers vs. Boston, although that Boston prediction is looking very shaky right now.
Being a Cavs fan it would be nice to seem them beat Boston, but realistically I see Boston as being the only Eastern Conference team to stand a chance. And the Cavs vs Pistons has been going on for the last 3 years, old news.
man the lakers got hosed last night. fucking ONE guy from the celtics shot more free throws than their entire team. obviously that's not the only reason the lakers lost but a lot of them were questionable calls, and they weren't getting any calls when they constantly got hacked in the lane. Last night's officiating was embarassing
walton needs to step it up big time. on the court, he looks like a little girl who got separated from her parents at the mall. Turiaf needs to play more too (9 mins last night) since the lakers have no size.
Walton is a huge bitch. He is probably my least favorite on the Lakers' bench, and I love their bench for the most part. The officiating was pathetic to be sure, but play all around was lacking as you mentioned. Kobe was kind of falling apart until picking it up at the end way too late to do anything.
But I have to give credit to Boston. It gives me great joy to see them blast the Lakers twice in a row when everyone before the finals was calling for the Lakers to handily win these finals. Also, thank god the Spurs lost.
Also, the Lakers really could have used Bynum in these finals. I was checking out a yahoo sports article about him and when he's healthy next year the Lakers will have the tallest frontline in the NBA: 7-foot power forward, 7-foot center, and a 6-10 small forward. sick
yeah dude, fuck the spurs. they're one team that i would pay NOT to see.
part of me wants the lakers to win, caues bill simmons would probably shit his pants, but i'd like to see boston win it this year more. Their window is closing, and i don't think they can duplicate next season. And that laker frontcourt is going to be studly. I have them penciled in to make the finals again. The hornets and jazz are still a few years/players away
As someone who doesn't follow basketball at all but did catch a portion of the game of issue, ha! My jaw dropped when I found out it was a playoff game I was watching. I just assumed it was a normal game where a phenomenal team happened to be trouncing an awful team, but clearly I was wrong.
I guess what I mean to say is, I'm glad Kobe the rapist lost.

definitely. this is a one-and-done season for Boston, I don't think that kind of team can hold it together to make as dominating a regular season run as they did this year. as much as i now despise the Lakers because EVERYONE at my school continually sucks theirs and kobe's cock, they are going to be very good. but hey.....go Magic! wooo
