What actually happened was he was watching his favourite programme on the telly and something struck his fancy. He fell off the sortee laughing and his neighbor heard him and thought he might be having a seizure. She called the bobbies. They showed up at his place and they proceeded to grill him. When he thought that was bullshit and stopped giving them info aside from his name and current condition they were leaving and shutting the door. It's unclear what happened at this point, but they thought he posed enough of a threat that they shot him in the face with pepper spray through the cracked open door and BUSTED IT OPEN (liek the guy from super troopers). They cuffed his hands and feet, carried him to the police van and took his ass to jail where they stripped him naked and threw him in a cell.

To serve and protect (their jobs).
