is pretty damn good so far, but I'm still very taken by the fact that MMO combat is fun in this game, so I may not be noticing flaws. I'm also only level 6, so we'll see how things work.
I recommend giving it a shot if you're tired of standard MMO combat. Its not as fun and unique as DDO combat was, but its definitely good.
Make sure you have a month old computer with a great graphics card. Read up on the req, and make sure you exceed them by 10 fold, no doubt.
Or else you will be sad like me...
Lowest settings possible:
Low setting preset:
Irn has it and just got a vid card to play it. he can play fine on high settings. We play on Tyranny, well he does, I'm just waiting till they fix it, or I break down and buy a new vid card.
I like the game thus far tho, and I haven't done much, and didn't see much when Irn was playing. Can't wait till it is running smoothly and I get into crafting and all that shit to give it a better review.
I run it fine on my $2200 laptop, but it damn well better run it fine lol.
Classes are awesome and fairly balanced from what I can see. The environment and the graphics are some of the sexiest I've seen. I can play on high without chop most of the time until assloads of stuff is going on at once, so I tend to play on medium.
Oh, and I'm on Bluesteel playing a barb. People are free to come join me.

Running any game in window-mode is a sure way to make it run awful. If you want to boost your performance a bit, run it full screen.
you guys flock to this game because you're a bunch of fags that rolled alliance whilst playing wow, and now are bored of horde kicking your ass up and down the pavement.
it's ok chuck everyone knows you're hopelessly addicted to wow, you don't need to lash out on everyone. does the baby need an epic drop? sshhh there you go, now be quiet.
I picked it up today after hemming and hawing over whether I really wanted to play another mmo after the WoW addiction. The install takes for god damned ever.
Edit: Add ridiculous patching process and I'm starting to remember why I swore off mmos.
Edit 2: Well, it runs predictably poorly on my aging machine, but well enough to play. Combat system is interesting, but occasional severe drops in fps make it less enjoyable that I think it otherwise might be.

hold on a minute! i'm not addicted to wow, seeing as i work a shitload and the rest of my downtime involves going out and sleeping. so nyah!
I'm not sure how I feel about my barbarian, though it seems more useful than me assassin. All in all, I'm not entirely sure I understand the combo system.
I tried this game for about a week with a Herald of Xotli, the combat system is definitely an improvement to MMOs but all in all I feel like I'm playing the same game with a different look. For some reason my computer can't handle the game well either, frustrating as hell. It'll be fine when I first load it up, I can go through towns with hardly any lag but then all of a sudden my framerate drops like a motherfucker. Whatever, don't have to deal with it anymore. I'll just stick to DotA.
The starting area is amazing. For the first 20 levels, you think you may have found "it". The MMO to kill all MMOs. The one you could stick with for ever. Then after lvl 20, you leave the starting city. It is apparent after leaving the starting city that the rest of the game was RUSHED.
I wish I could explain it better. All the effort, all the beauty, and all the "holy shit this game is good" is gone after you leave Tortage (the starting city). It turns into pointless grind, with pointless PVP. Player created cities do absolutely nothing, DX 10 is not available, all armor looks EXACTLY THE SAME, quests are unpolished and take on a familiar "go do this, come back and get money, and that's it" feel to them, with almost no extended story quests. Its honestly... a pathetic excuse for an MMO after level 20.
There is also absolutely no endgame, in a game which takes a completely casual player 2 months to level to 80. End game gear is absolute crap compared to gemmed crafted gear... balance of raids is off, etc etc...
And I know it is a new MMO, but to put it into perspective, I've played AO, DAOC, WoW, and AC2 at release, and this feels like the least polished and least finished of them all. Enough so that I quit because of the issues and design, which I haven't quit any other MMO for.
