Waterboarding is a method of simulated drowning ... These and other SERE techniques were developed from methods used by Chinese Communists against American soldiers during the Korean War. At the time, the United States denounced the Chinese for violating the Geneva Conventions and international law.
"Use of the watering board resulted in student capitulation and compliancelying 100 percent of the time"
They forgot part.
Just cause the student wanted it to stop doesn't mean it yields accurate results. Saying, "everybody who has this done to them fucking hates it." is not a good measurement of its effectiveness.
Interesting article though. I hadn't heard about the SERE connection. Just the Chinese part.
