Seems as though there's a serious chance of seeing a landslide this year. Landslide being defined as 375+ e-votes. 538 has it as about a 30% chance of an Obama Landslide and 0% for McCain.
- "black panthers" with nightsticks "guarding" polling places in Philly.
- The person who was distributing flyers in Virginia that said Dems vote tomorrow has been caught. Though the crime is a misdemeanor, charges won't be filed.

If anyone actually believed this bullshit, I'll drive down to Virginia and punch them in the face.

p.s. Still scared. This country is gonna be in bad shape, regardless of the outcome of the election.
o and yeah. 15 seats left in the senate and need 10 to have a super majority. 261 for House isnt out of reach either. this would make it easier for Obama
well congrats to Obama! I don't know exactly how he will be as President, but I think he wont leave precipitously from Iraq (my main issue) and that he wont irreparably change the country toward socialism = he will be fine...I think =)
what i mean is talk about the election results and not what a president elect would or would not do. i don't think either side enjoys that. listen to mccains speech. i thought it was good.
I did not vote for Mccain, but I'll tell you what, i respected Mccain as a person long before the election. His speech follow his defeat put him on an entirely new level of respect. To accept his defeat as graciously as he did and leaving such a great impression with his words. It also beats the HELL out of the post vote fiasco of 04.
Perhaps the thing I find most interesting in this election is how well-run and organized the Obama campaign was, and their organization and diligence directly translated to votes where it counted.
Case in point: Obama won every single "close" race in the country except for Montana. That doesn't include North Carolina since it is still to close to call, but at the moment it looks like Obama will take that anyway. There were a myriad of states that could go either way, but ultimately the Obama camp managed to squeeze out a victory in nearly 100% of them. For that, I give them props.
I don't know about historic terms, but Obama definitely ran the most well-oiled and well-managed campaigns in my lifetime.
This morning that was the big TP. They were looking back through history to see where there might have been a better campaign. They basically concluded that while we can't say 100% that his was the most effective (the competition this time around was pretty weak) but they did seem to agree that there hasn't been a case where the negative campaign fared so poorly in the face of a non-incumbent candidate. Usually when you have an unknown, simply calling their record into question is good enough.
Obama campaign = Juggernaut, Bitch. Once it got moving, there was no force in nature that seemed to be able to stop it, or even really slow it down.
Since Dems have Washington wrapped up I'm quitting my job and living off others.
Thanks America!
Because George Bush didn't expand the role of the federal government in the lives of Americans more than any president since Roosevelt? News flash: It has been no less difficult for some Americans to mooch of the rest of us over the past 8 years than it was in the 8 years preceding this administration.
Your beloved republican party is a disgrace to conservatism, and they've done nothing but fool people like you into thinking otherwise.
Edit: I'm not an Obama fan, and my political views are certainly quite far from what you'd call democratic, but it irritates me to no end when smart people say stupid shit like that. Party-over-country-over-ideals is a retarded way to approach politics, and it represents everything I hate about the country we live in today.
